   Costs and Mortgages

Individuals incur legal fees and government duties of approximately seven percent of the purchase price of any property. A company or trust is charged 12 percent.

Foreign investors are allowed a 50 percent mortgage.

   Taxation

Capital Gains Tax is levied on all profit made from the sale of your property. This ranges from seven to 12 percent. Income received from a property will not be taxed if you are registered as a non-resident.

If you own a business in South Africa, you will be taxed up to 40 percent on your net profit.
