Language

English, one of our 11 official languages, is our language of record, spoken or understood by most South Africans. A cosmopolitan city, Cape Town is home to large communities of European, Asian, Middle Eastern, and North and South American and Middle-Eastern expatriates, each lending colour, flavour and talent to our food, art, literature, music, food and, of course, conversation. Wherever you may be from, you will not have far to go to find someone speaking your language.
